Frequently asked Questions about New Jersey Medical Licensure

There is a $325 non-refundable application fee and License fee from $515 – $815, depending on when the application is approved.  Both are payable to the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.

Average processing time for a New Jersey Medical License is between 10-20 weeks, depending on your credentials and history. If there are any “Yes” answers to any adverse event questions, the time will be extended while the Board reviews all documentation.

Other than passing an initial licensing exam, and ECFMG if applicable, there is no additional exam required for an New Jersey Medical License.

New Jersey does not offer medical license reciprocity.
